Cavanaugh Flight Museum brings the sights and sounds of history to life with Wheels and Warbirds, a fall festival held this Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m. Ride in the museum’s famed collection of vintage aircraft and military vehicles at this unique festival on September 21st!
Wheels and Warbirds will feature a carnival-like atmosphere featuring games and activities for the kids, Word War II tank demonstrations, concessions, aircraft tours, and photo opportunities with aircraft that are not normally available for viewing. The museum will also host the Pontiac Southern Nationals Car Show featuring some of the finest Pontiac muscle cars from around the country.
The Cavanaugh Flight Museum is a non-profit 501(c)(3) educational organization devoted to promoting aviation studies and to perpetuating America's aviation heritage. The museum fulfills its mission by restoring, operating, maintaining and displaying historically-significant, vintage aircraft, and by collecting materials related to the history of aviation.
The museum’s collection includes several airplane models from World War I, World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Additionally, the museum houses models from the 1950s and 1960s, as well as civilian aircraft, which include the Travel Air 4000, the Pitts Special, the Christen Eagle II, and the Piper J-3 Cub.
