People say you shouldn’t dwell in the past, but truly — why not? The ’80s were a time when fashion was undeniably awful and national politics were a sorry state of affairs, but the music was pretty kickass and there were a lot of wine coolers. Added bonus: Parents couldn’t track your every move, making the consumption of said wine coolers way more fun.
So when Alamo Drafthouse Dallas, 1005 South Lamar, first announced that they’d be throwing a “Back to the ’80s Prom” in their Vetted Well space, we sprayed on a can of Aqua Net and squared up to some shoulder pads in an effort to hightail it back to simpler times. Starting at 10 p.m. Monday, June 27, they’ll take you back to that era of Brat Packers and saxophones with a live DJ and dance party, plus karaoke, photo booths and spiked prom punch. Relive a prom-gone-wrong, recreate your parents’ special moments in more breathable fabric, or just pretend that your biggest problems boil down to the choice between Ducky and Blaine — it’s all possible.
At Oxford at Iron Horse Apartments in North Richland Hills, Texas, we believe it’s important to integrate yourself into the community, which is why we suggest attending this event. Meeting new people, having unfamiliar experiences, and joining neighborhood activities is the key to an exceptional lifestyle.
